I have attended a few local Occupy marches, but from my experience, people were very reluctant to talk politics. So my question to you guys is, what is your stance on the doctor? He is clearly the only guy running that isn't bought out, he understands the military industrial complex, he has warned about the Federal Reserve for a long time, and he has more common ground with Occupy than any other candidate? I am very active in the Ron Paul Movement, which has been just as successful as Occupy. I do not understand why we do not recognize that we largely have a common goal? Together, the Ron Paul Revolution, Anonymous, Wiki-leaks, and the Occupy Movement could be strong allies in this fight against corruption.

i'm sorry, but i could never endorse Dr Paul, even though i agree with many of his stances, and seems to be untouchable to the special interests. and that is based solely on his views on Iran and nukes. I was a fan until i heard him state that it was Iran's right to be able to "protect itself" with nukes since we have them, why shouldn't they have that right. Now i fully agree that we, as a nation, should get out of the nation building business, but to have that mentality in regards to a nation that has been more then hostile to us and has claimed that they want nukes to wipe out an entire race, im sorry, i pray the man never steps foot in the oval office..

The United States has been involved in Middle East affairs for far too long, and since 9/11 we have been receiving the "blowback" as the CIA would call it.
Consider this video "The American War Machine" -
Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate that understands why terrorism exists, why the Taliban exists, and why this "war on terror" is a guise to take out liberties. Consider this quote by James Madison, "If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy."
Consider the fact that Ron Paul regularly reads WikiLeaks and exposes the power hungry military industrial complex. Here, Ron Paul reveals that the US gave Iraq the green light to invade Kuwait before the first gulf war.

Dr. Paul has been warning about terrorism and our flawed foreign policy for a long time.
Ron Paul's message to OWS: END THE FED!
A great video that explains the Federal Reserve and the concept of fractional reserve banking.
And lastly, this is probably my favorite Ron Paul video on YouTube

i understand your passion for the man's views and you are right, he has been right too many times, but on one case he is wrong, dead wrong and the world can't take the chance of that one failure of common sense.

And what has made you think that Iran is going to get a nuke and try to destroy the United States. North Korea has said the same thing for years, have they not? Iran is cocky, but they are not dumb. If they somehow managed to launch one missile (most likely it would be towards Israel anyways) then we would wipe them from the face of the earth. They know this. Mutually Assured Destruction.
By the way, US media likes to quote the psycho Ahmadinejad a lot, but he is not even in charge, and he is disliked by his own people.

Good discussion here. What about the stance of the invisible hand of the free market on sustainability? Preparing for a collapse in fossil fuels - a certainty - requires investment in renewables way earlier than would be in the interest of a short-term-minded, growth-based economy.
What is Ron Paul's stance on growing an economy on a finite planet?

considering the fact that Iran has attacked the US , in one way or another, more then once. i dont know how old you are, but i am old enough the remember the Iran hostage situation in the late 70's. and as for them launching a nuke, i highly doubt the would launch one, im a firm believer in the whole "dirty bomb" concept. Iran has proven time and time again to be a nation not to be trusted. i know the same could be said about our nation and in many cases, that would be completely correct.
as for Korea, im with you on that one and i really think that has alot to do with the close proximity to China and fears of a nation with a real military. it just another case to prove that our leaders don't have the citizens best interests at heart much of the timePosted 1 year ago # -
We, Roger, you have to understand why the Iran Hostage Crisis happened in the first place. The United States installed a puppet dictator, like we have done time and time before. The dictator that we installed was oppressive and did not serve the interests of the people. Naturally, they over threw him - but in the process an Islamic government was put into place. We did not like that idea, and so for nearly a decade (during the 80's) we pumped money into Saddam Hussein and Iraq. We gave Iraq a blank check to our military industrial complex, and in return he fought a long bloody war with Iran. In 1988 the war ended with no winner.
As to clean energy, Dr. Paul certainly is not as progressive as President Obama, but I think that takes back seat in our current situation. The impending financial collapse is looming over us all. The debt is soaring under Mr. Obama, which is further prolonging the recession, and further dampening our future. Dr. Paul's plan is to first restore America back to the principles upon which it was founded. End the wars, get the economy back on track, and elect a government that will serve the people and follow the constitution. Once that has been achieved, then clean energy, higher education, better infrastructure, etc will all fall into place.
In a nutshell - restore America first, including liquidating the debt, then you can focus on the progressive spending measures such as alternative energy. I will provide a few links for you to read yourself. First, straight from Dr. Paul's website, a section about energy.
As President, Ron Paul will lead the fight to:
* Remove restrictions on drilling, so companies can tap into the vast amount of oil we have here at home.
* Repeal the federal tax on gasoline. Eliminating the federal gas tax would result in an 18 cents savings per gallon for American consumers.
* Lift government roadblocks to the use of coal and nuclear power.
* Eliminate the ineffective EPA. Polluters should answer directly to property owners in court for the damages they create – not to Washington.
* Make tax credits available for the purchase and production of alternative fuel technologies.

Next, a lengthy interview with Dr. Paul about energy.

Dr. Paul courageously speaks the truth during the 2008 election cycle.
He has predicted so much already, so I suggest we all heed the doctors warning. Social and political chaos is coming.
